There he stands, tall and confident in the midst of such a glorious transition of summer to autumn. The colors of auburn and chestnut make him appear so prestigious. Once an emerald shade, he now only emerges as a fleshy, skin tint. The home to so many creatures and the food for others; he has such an important job. His task is to protect, feed, shade and help me breathe; I couldn’t be more thankful. It is amazing to see him change from the tree I used to lie under for shade in the hot summer days, to one that will now produce my fruit for which I use to make autumn pies. What a beautiful metamorphosis to witness. |
